REMEMBER

Psalm 77: 9-15

“Has God forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up his compassion? Then I said, “I will appeal to this, to the years of the right hand of the Most High.” I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; your have made known your might among the peoples. You with your arm redeemed your peoples, the children of Jacob and Joseph.”

In this psalm, the psalmist feels as though God is not listening, not hearing. He felt forgotten by God and then in the very next sentence he knows what to do! He reviews the great works and wonders of God. He reminds himself and God of all the works God has done! I believe the psalmist is encouraged when he reviews what God has already done.

This is a good lesson for us! When we feel that God is far off we must immediately review what He has already done!
We must preach the gospel to ourselves! It will serve our souls well to remember the great works and wonders of our God and it will glorify him as we do this!

How Great is our God??
